What is Morpheus8? How does it work?

Morpheus8 combines two treatments in one: microneedling and radio frequency heat. Microneedling uses tiny needles to pierce the skin, which spurs the body to make more collagen. Radio frequency technology generates heat that tightens and contours the skin and/or the fat underneath the skin. Together, these two processes stimulate and supercharge the skin’s natural healing process. The treatment is adaptable depending on what your concerns are. What is the treatment like? Does it hurt?

There’s no way around it: this treatment tends to be painful, but the results make it worth it. A numbing cream is applied to the skin before the procedure to minimize discomfort. The procedure itself is quick, lasting about 10-30 minutes depending on the area. Waiting for the numbing cream to start working often takes longer than the procedure itself! Your treatment provider uses the Morpheus8 applicator to simultaneously microneedle the skin and apply radio frequency heat. 

Who can use Morpheus8?

Adults of all ages can use Morpheus8 to address a variety of concerns. This treatment can also be used on any skin color, as it does not create post-inflammatory pigmentation. Morpheus8 may be the treatment for you if you suffer from any of the following:

After your treatment, you will experience redness and mild swelling, and you may possibly experience some bruising. Usually these subside within 3-4 days. Carefully follow your treatment provider’s instructions for skincare post-treatment, as your skin will be extra-sensitive during this time. They will typically instruct you to keep it dry for the next 24 hours. Usually you can return to wearing makeup after a couple of days, so even if you have lingering redness, you can conceal it and go about your life without anyone knowing you’ve just had a cutting-edge skin treatment. The downtime with Morpheus8 is nothing compared to invasive procedures like facelifts, but it still provides noticeable anti-aging results.

How long does it take to see results?

Depending on the issue(s) you’re treating, it takes about 1-3 sessions to see results.

Visible results can be seen within a few days, but improvements continue up to three months after treatment. During that time, as always, it’s important to wear SPF any time you’ll experience sun exposure. This optimizes your results and protects against further damage to your skin.
