Upkeep’s Guide To The Perfect Day In Miami

But if you didn’t know, we’re already in Miami–and it was one of the first places we started partnering with local MedSpas to make booking beauty treatments super convenient and quick. Getting a beauty treatment is just one part of living like the locals do–here’s our recommendations for a perfect day in Miami.

When it comes to coffee, matcha and breakfast, you have options. To start your day off with an amazing iced latte, we recommend Bebito’s Cafe. It’s a neighborhood institution. Grab an almond butter “toastada” or the fried egg croissant for breakfast while you’re there.

Once you’re caffeinated, it’s time to do some shopping. We say, skip the tourist-y spots and head to the 1 Hotel lobby for a hidden boutique gem Violet & Grace. They stock chic, ultra-curated clothes and shoes from luxury brands. Think cool-girl staples like Chloe, Anine Bing, and Re/done. Plus they have swimwear from Solid & Striped and Zimmerman, and one can never have too many bikinis in Miami :)

Now it’s time to head to the MedSpa for the full Miami Beach experience. Living like a local means making time for beauty treatments ;) Since Miami is all about the bikini body, we recommend a body-focused treatment like Emsculpt Neo, which burns fat and builds muscle at the same time in a quick, half-hour session. There’s no downtime, so you can go about the rest of the day knowing that your body has had a little pick-me-up! Emsculpt Neo is super popular for your abs, derriere, and thighs. Both Azala Skin Clinic and Skinney Medspa in Bal Harbour offer this treatment, and you can book your appointment on-demand in the Upkeep app.

Alternatively if you are more in the mood for a cleansing facial before your big night out we recommend a Hydrafacial at Azuri. The Hydrafacial is suitable for all skin types. It’s gentle but powerful, and gives you an instant glow. You guessed it–this facial is also available to book on the Upkeep App.

Next, head to the Setai hotel. Even if you’re not a guest at this luxury hotel, you can buy a daily resort pass to access the pool, beach chairs, and the waterfront restaurant (and on Mondays and Thursdays to book you can just call their spa directly. It's a secret, don’t tell anyone!). Show off your newest bikini and get some sun–this is the place to see and be seen! But remember your SPF 50, girls–the best kind of tan is a fake one. Once you’ve gotten your fill of the pool, have lunch at the hotel’s restaurant Jaya. The truffle dumplings are to die for, the ambiance is elegant, and you get a complimentary glass of prosecco, too.

Once dinner rolls around, you have options. We recommend Carbone–if you can get a reservation, of course. It’s the hottest table in Miami right now for its combination of Italian-American cuisine and super luxe ambiance. Everyone orders the spicy rigatoni, but the lobster ravioli is our personal favorite. Swanky, exclusive, and glamorous–it’s hard to beat Carbone. If you’re vegan, check out Planta. It has great pizzas and even sushi with watermelon instead of salmon (it sounds weird, but it’s good.) Or if you’re hankering for seafood, get a table at Stiltsville Fish Bar. Sit on the front patio for sunset views of Biscayne Bay–also excellent lighting for an Instagram pic. PSA: don’t sleep on the crab cakes.

Looking for some dancing and cocktails? We’ve got you covered. The Living Room at the Faena is the perfect place to end the night. It’s glamorous and glitzy in that oh-so Miami way–sink back on the animal print banquettes with their signature Faena Spritz. They also have live music from local artists, bands, and DJs, plus vinyl nights on Tuesdays.
